Headquartered in Washington, D.C., with offices in McLean, VA, EDC Consulting LLC is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business that specializes in implementing ERP solutions, IT services, and Business Strategy support to the Federal Government. EDC Consulting is a privately held limited liability company that was founded with the intent of becoming a leading provider of SAP, Oracle and PeopleSoft consulting services to the Federal Government.

EDC Consulting employs experienced Platinum-level ERP and IT professionals with a diverse set of real-life implementation experiences inherited from large companies such as SAP, Oracle and IBM as well as Big 4 Consulting firms such as PriceWaterhouse Coopers and KPMG. EDC Consulting also employs uniquely qualified Subject Matter Experts to deliver the highest quality of services to our clients in an atmosphere of teamwork, mutual support, and uncompromising ethical standards. History

The roots of EDC Consulting go back to 1982 when Chairman and co-founder Dennis J. Garbis founded the Sigma Companies. As a retired Vietnam-era U.S. Army Ranger, a 20+ year member of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a Professional Engineer registered in 3 states, Dennis combined his personal and professional background and experiences to form Sigma Construction, Inc. (Sigma), a company that has been primarily involved in the design, development and construction of residential and commercial real estate in the Washington D.C. area for over 25 years.

In the early 1990s, in response to the need to comply with the increasingly stringent and rapidly evolving Federal, State and Local environmental laws in the land development and construction business, Dennis formed Environmental Design & Construction, Inc. (ED&C). Having consulted on countless engineering and environmental consulting and remediation projects over the last 15 years, Environmental Design & Construction has grown into a successful Environmental Consulting practice that was recently ranked in the Top 20 Environmental Consulting firms by the Washington Business Journal.

In early 2000, the Sigma companies experienced rapid growth and developed an extensive list of clients throughout the commercial sector, as well as the Federal, State & Local Government market. During the course of Sigma's own construction projects, there became an increasing demand to support various project tasks related to Information Technology, fiber optic and network wiring, cabling and telecommunication (systems). In a departure from Sigma's core foundation, Sigma developed an internal capability to perform many technology-oriented tasks associated with construction. It was at this time when Sigma recognized the need to evolve and adapt their business to meet market and customer demands and entered into the world of IT. Over the next 5 years, Sigma added to their staff numerous industry experts to grow and deliver cutting edge IT solutions, and in the process, Sigma gained a wealth of experience and qualifications in the IT and Network support field and carefully honed its expertise by supporting numerous technology and IT oriented tasks for various clients in the D.C. City Government, The White House and in Intelligence Agencies. As Sigma's IT capabilities expanded, and met the growing demands of their clients, the decision was made to distinguish Sigma's IT service offerings from its core foundation of construction and development. EDC Consulting was born.

In 2005, EDC Consulting LLC was formed as its own legal entity, separate from Sigma and ED&C. With the addition of several key business partners, all with extensive experience in the IT, Software, Hardware and ERP industries, EDC Consulting was formed with the sole mission of being an envied business pioneer by providing professional services and forward thinking IT Solutions to the Federal Government. Very careful and deliberate planning went into making EDC Consulting unique and different from the many other small IT companies that dotted the Federal IT landscape. A professional corporate governance structure that mirrors large corporations was established. Seasoned industry experts were recruited to serve on EDC Consulting's Board of Directors and Board of Advisors. Supported by an investor-backed, financially solid foundation, successful and experienced executive leadership, along with internal business and administrative processes inherited from Sigma's 25+ years of business experience, EDC Consulting is poised to be a future leader in the ERP and IT Services market.
